ABOUT

Hello and welcome to the Liam Shoots website

My name is Liam and guess what, I shoot, hence the name.

For me, photography is all about capturing natural, real moments and emotions. I stand back, I observe and click that little button on the top of my camera when I see something that is crying out to be captured. It’s as simple as that!

Simple yes, but to make everything look easy and feel relaxed, that takes practice. I have been shooting professionally since 2008 but playing around with cameras since I was a kid.

I enjoy shooting in a subtle and relaxed way, capturing the action as it unfolds naturally like a documentary photographer without trying to disturb what is going on in front of my lens. A friend recently told me that my photography ‘captures the truth’, which I think is a brilliant way of describing my style and the way I work.

When it comes to all important wedding photography, your day is all about you – two people.

Big or small, my photos show the day unfolding and I adore stopping time, recording the little moments that get missed because the big moments take over.

Unlike most professional photographers, shooting weddings was one of the first things I took on. A friend threw me into the deep end early on by seeing my photos and asking if I’d like to shoot their big day. Since then I’ve shot weddings across the UK and in, of all places, Rome! In the summer of 2016 I went international again and shot a destination wedding on a lake in rural France. This September I’ll be shooting a wedding in New York. I guess that officially makes me a destination wedding photographer.

Commercially, I have worked for a sponsor of The Queen’s Cup shooting photos of Her Majesty The Queen, shot on-set photos for tv and film, photographed look books for start-up businesses and snapped people having fun at a wide range of events.

I have a Masters in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London and also work as an artist and filmmaker. Working as a visual artist alongside my photography keeps my photos contemporary and fresh with an artistic eye for capturing details and telling stories.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, booking enquiries or would like to meet up for a chat.
